Saint Francis Sunday...

Ya'll know that me and the Wanker don't know much about all this Saint stuff, BUT , if I had to choose one I like, it would be this one. He hangs out in concrete in a back garden at our house, and once a year, it's take your dog to church day in his honor.

Luckily for us at St. John's Honeoye Falls, we have John and John and their LOVELY animal filled farm to hold our service!

Lots of the dogs were just so calm... Koda needed to see them all and the farm animals were all but too much for him...This is a tiny horse.

I don't think he was really keen on the blessing part
Koda NEEDED him a small goat.

John and John's farm is just beautiful. Today was a beautiful Fall morning, cool, clean. Peak leaf peeping season. We have been out there for dinner and such, but I have never really walked the farm

FOOTBALL SATURDAY!

BUT....

Let's start it off with a little bit of fashion! It's been forever since we had a Michelle Moment! Let's dive in:

Michelle with Albert II, Prince of Monaco

This is what Michelle wore to the ballet in Copenhagen on Thursday. Not sure who's dress it is, but I love it. A great color choice with her skin tone. She loves this waist line, so we are just going to have to live with it. The very full, almost ballerina skirt to wear to the ballet, really, this just works for me, and I think it is very First Lady.

Any thoughts?

Dinner....

I did't cook, Roja did.

Yummy seasoned rice with veggies
Chicken spicy and not
Shrimp VERY spicy and not
chic peas that were so good, better than Thali
and .. the GREEN BEANS.
  • oil
  • mustard seed
  • onion
  • garlic
  • GREEN BEANS
  • turmeric
  • frozen shredded coconut.. from India, I do not know if it is different. It was not baking coconut, not sweet
I came real close to embarrassing myself as i ate four servings of these beans. There was a lot of food left over, and really, if I would have had only one glass of wine , I would have been asking the Singh's for some old cool whip containers....

A lovely party.

straw... camels back.....

The United States of America lost the 2016 Olympic games to Brazil today. Where would you rather spend a month in the Summer ( when ever Summer falls? ) Girl from Ipanema and all.Barack and Michelle Obama did not lose the Olympic Games, Chicago alone did not lose the Olympic games.. The United States lost the games..

This a meeting of Americans for Prosperity...... one of the main organizing groups behind the enlightenment that is the " tea bagger " movement cheering and high five-ing the USA losing.

Why?
Why is it a happy thing, or a pro GOP thing for America to lose?

This is going to take a little time to sink in for me to write about ..

Congrats RIO !

Seriously, what a fun games it will be in 2016..... everybody Samba!

It's very sad for all of Chicago-land, they were booted on the very first round. Tons of folks gathered out on Daily Plaza awaiting the news. It is very rare for cities to win on their very first bid. The IOC is very much at " old boys club", if you are not a member of their elite group ,then ....

BUT, lets jump to the right wing reaction to The United States loosing the Olympic Games. Evil gay Matt is drooling all over himself in excitement over Chicago loosing the game? How Un-American is that?

Were the vast right wing professional hater class rooting against the United States? This is all in the exact same mindset I have been in all week long, the whole " There is no we anymore". If the Olympic Games can not rise above hatred and politics then what on earth can?

I love the Olympics, 1996 was just one of the most fun times of my life. I know I have said that a lot in the last few days, but it was true. Sure , there were tons of things that were flat out wrong with the Atlanta games, but it brought the city together, and there is always national pride in the host country. There is no place in this country more right wing that Salt Lake City, but I am sure the ENTIRE country were behind them in their 2002 Winter Games, not just the red states.

So many fools going on and on about the President and First Lady going to the IOC meeting . Civic pride is now a bad thing? IF, and yes, that's a big if.. BUT, if Chicago would have won the games it would have been a HUGE boost for the entire region, and a real shot in the arm for the whole Great Lakes region. If the White House comes out in support of Motherhood and Apple Pie, would the right wing come out against it?

Dinner

October came in unusually chilly, even for this far North. We needed a nice supper to warm us up!

Grilled Chicken Breast, New Potatoes , yes - fried , Green Beans and some Yummy Butternut Squash. I just peeled the squash, cubed it. Peeled a couple of Apples and added it all to my tagine with lemon juice and a little bit of butter. Just let it go on low. VERY tasty... I did add a little bit of water about half way through. When it was done, I mashed with a little more butter, not much. Tasted very fresh .. it was the lemon. I'll do this again.
Rolls. I love a good roll.

Welcome Brothers!

The Geaux Tiger Nation is headed east en masse to visit a real college campus.

This is my very good pal Brett who is a rabid LSU fan . He took this picture in the airport this morning as he flies WEST for a visit to Las Vegas! Did not want to come to the Classic City to watch his beloved #4 Bayou Bengals get smacked down by those plucky #14 Georgia Bulldogs!

Have fun in Vegas , honey... lots of distractions, to keep your mind off of your loss.

And, yes, he posted a picture of himself with a big old pee spot.
