The snowball bush in our back yard is in all its glory this week!
I've never really noticed how very hydrangea like it is, but it's not in the same family
For a few years there it was just devoured by some bugs, but lately, the last couple of years, it has been in full bloom.

We have a new queen!

Miss Michigan Rima Fakih was crowned , I guess, last night, Miss USA 2010. Now yall know, I have not seen a pageant , well with biological women, since they switched to two piece bathing suits ( see: the baby Jesus, crying..) or really since talent became anything other than twirling or interpretive dance.

But they all gathered somewhere in this post PerezHilton universe and made us a new beauty queen last night. I am sure all of the young ladies were well above average and really REALLY wanted world peace. God Bless, America!

Ooops, a little bit of a problem there.... Miss Michigan, Your Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakih.. IS A MUSLIM! ( yall KNEW this was coming once the Kenyan got into the White House!!! )

Enter Fox News, and their headline this morning:

Miss Oklahoma named first runner up in Miss USA pageant.

You just can not make this stuff up. The very lovely and well above average ( blond and blue eyed ) Miss Elizabeth Woolard, came in second. ( Now.. if for any reason....) There was some sort of brew-ha-ha over some minor , at best, tv celebrity asking some question to Miss Woolard about something other than world peace or Mother Teresa, and you know its all a big ass plot by the liberals to keep the good Christan mostly nekkid girl from becoming any beauty queen. Because that is where we are going to start our world domination tour, with the Miss USA pageant.

At first read of the headline , after googling Miss USA 2010, I assumed the Miss Oklahoma comes in second headline to be from the local Tulsa or Broken Arrow Fox News station. No, as far as I can tell, it the real all- Palin- all- the -time Fox News.

The reason I googled at all, was that I was a little bit happy that in this day and age, with all that is going on in the world, that Miss USA is a Muslim. I think it's fantastic, and puts a really good face out there for the world to see. Sure, next year, I hope Miss USA is Pandora Boxx, but this is a good start.

Dirty Queers

"Citing his support for “traditional marriage,” Gov. Tim Pawlenty vetoed a bill on Saturday that would allow a surviving same-sex partner to sue to recover damages in the case of wrongful death and to execute a deceased partner’s funeral wishes. Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Minneapolis, called the veto “partisan extremism,” and Project 515 said Pawlenty got his “facts wrong.” Pawlenty said the bill “addresses a nonexistent problem” saying that same-sex couple must simply draw up the appropriate paperwork. He also said that a “surviving domestic partner” should not be “afforded the same legal recognition” as a spouse."

Keep reading if you want too, but it is all the same old right wing bullshit. A couple is together for lets say, 45 years, one sadly dies , and a sibling , that has hated you from day one gets to step in as next of kin and denies you any and everything... even the how, where and when of your spouses burial. 2010 people......

I guess Governor Pawlenty did not get the memo that the GOP has moved on from the gays and now hates brown people. Minnesota does lag behind a little bit, or maybe there just are not enough Mexicans there .

As we get closer to 2012, and somebody, anybody wants to steal ANY of Sister Sarah's thunder they are going to have to go more and more and more and more right wing nut job crazy.

My good pal Jeff at a Greensboro Grasshoppers (Florida Marlins) game this afternoon. Again, blue sky, cold beer, baseball - and for me more than Jeff, cute boys in sometimes tight pants.... really, close to good as life gets...

Greensboro went down to that South Atlantic League power house The Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies ) 9 -1 .

Tears for Adlai
