Things go better with hate, mistrust and lies

( A few major fines, and God willing, a little jail time would be nice! )

All sorts of hullabaloo in and around the Speaker Boehner - King and Spalding debacle. This one is far from over. Super Lawyer and Christianist Icon Paul Clement is not the honorable little victim that he is playing. Turns out K and S had no idea that Mr. Clement had signed on to defend DOMA , a violation of their corporate rules, the big wigs on P'tree only finding out when every one else did via the media.

From the oft read Blog of the Legal Times ( which they really do refer to as the b.l.t. ) "Clement, a former U.S. solicitor general who headed King & Spalding’s appellate practice, signed a contract with the Office of the House General Counsel on April 14. He was hired to intervene in several court cases to defend the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, after President Barack Obama decided the Justice Department should not do so. According to The Daily Report, the five-member King & Spalding committee that reviews new clients did not know about the contract until April 18, the same day the public found out. The committee began reviewing the representation on April 19 and rejected it the ne Clement, a former U.S. solicitor general who headed King & Spalding’s appellate practice, signed a contract with the Office of the House General Counsel on April 14. He was hired to intervene in several court cases to defend the constitutionality of the federal Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, after President Barack Obama decided the Justice Department should not do so.

A King and Spalding spokesperson went on to say that " We are a corporate law firm - not a constitutional firm. This would not be the kind of case our firm generally takes. " So, this dog and pony show was all done for the cameras of Fox News and for the outrage of Virginia Attorney General Ken " I hate the gays more than you do " ( and father of 14 ) Cuccinelli ( a very good Roman Catholic )

But wait, there's more

Turns out there are all sorts of finical discrepancies as well, as NO one knows where the money to pay for the for defending DOMA is coming from. See, John Boehner does not really have a check book for the country, they have to do things like vote on stuff and make approbations and all... and they have not done that..."Boehner's agreement could be violating the Antideficiency Act, which prohibits "involving the government in any obligation to pay money before funds have been appropriated for that purpose." Knowingly violating the law could lead to being fined or imprisoned."

It's our old friend the vast right wing ( WE ARE THE VICTIMS !!! ) conspiracy raising it's ugly head, once again!
