This was going to be hard from the get go - Americans talking about class - and with out the Welsh... really, all you could have done would have been a Detroit / Windsor thing.. but Detroit, in 2013 ? So it looks like NYC ( sort of ) v Pennsylvania Amish....
BUT, parts of this look funny. That actress though is NO Ruth Jones, who there for a while , I did love more than life ...... But you do know they tried ABFAB as well......
From London's The Telegraph " Billericay has been been replaced by New York and there will certainly be no mention of Barry Island but hit British comedy Gavin and Stacey is set to return to our screens via US remake, Us & Them.
Broadcast by Fox, original creators James Corden and Ruth Joneswill be executive producers on this sitcom but none of the original cast is set to feature. However, the characters will be similar and the storyline will remain faithful to the original show.
Jason Ritter, star of Parenthood and The Event, and Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel will play young lovers Gavin and Stacey, while party loving Smithy - the role that launched James Corden's TV career - will be played by stand-up comic Dustin Ybarra."
James and Ruth will pocket that Murdoch cash though, so win win....
