I can not even find one of those BEAT ________ things that I make my Facebook profile photo and then put on this post every week for GEORGIA SOUTHERN - that is how not on anyone's radar this game was.
Start with the good news, the news according to St. Mark Richt
A WIN IS A WIN
No arguing that. The team in red was very happy when the game was over - AND the team in navy hopefully had their heads held high. What could have been. The last time that UGA lost to a college from Georgia that is not Georgia Tech was 1929 - when the mighty mighty Stormy Petrels of OGLETHORPE University flew into Athens to beat the Bulldogs 13 -6. ( That had to be a weird year - the same season UGA lost to NYU 27 - 19 in a game played at YANKEE STADIUM )
The bad news is how on earth does a school like Georgia Southern last with UGA - picked to win the SEC East by most everyone into an overtime. And easily could have beat them if their coach would have gone for a 4th down late in the game. It was just shocking.
I was thinking all week long that it was a noon kick off so I did not do anything at all for the game, as is my habit for the Nooners. Happy this one is close to over. You can't every really count out an instate rival like Tech, but I am thinking that this year you can. They are really on the outs right now. Then some sad lower tier bowl.
BRING ON 2016 !
