HRHs William and Kate take Manhattan.

Among those entities welcoming the couple to the USA, the Empire State Building., tweeting this photo and the message “We welcome Their Royal Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, by sparkling in red, white and blue.”

 The Cambridges "got a royal welcome as they arrived in the city Sunday for their whirlwind tour — smiling for hundreds of fans at their hotel after pulling up in a presidential-style motorcade.

“It’s good to be here,” William told The Carlyle’s managing director, Giovanni Beretta, as he entered the Upper East Side hotel.

A British flag flew next to the Stars and Stripes outside the hotel, while the Empire State Building was lit in red, white and blue — for the Union Jack.

The royals are on a three-day tour that includes Wills going to Washington, DC, to meet President Obama, then attending a Nets game with Kate at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the 9/11 Memorial in lower Manhattan.

The pair and their entourage of seven — including former Ambassador to the US Sir David Manning and Kate’s hairdresser, Amanda Cook Tucker — touched down at JFK Airport on British Airways Flight 177, a commercial Boeing 747, at 4:37 p.m., about a half-hour late. They were whisked directly from the tarmac to the hotel.

Their black SUV was accompanied on the drive by an NYPD patrol car, six SUVs and five motorcycles with the lights flashing.

An ambulance is also traveling with the couple’s security detail because Kate is five months’ pregnant, sources told The Post." [ NYP ]

HRH is wearing a plum maternity coat from the company Seraphine Maternity that is laced through with gold metallic thread.
