We ended out little trip with a visit to the home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The last time you saw the above track it looked like this:
Having lived through an Olympics, they hold a special place in my heart, I was very excited about going here.
The first thought you have driving into Lake Placid, is how the hell did they have an Olympics here? It is a TINY little town far away from most everything, with one two lane road going in and out. Yes, it has world class skiing in its back yard , but still. The modern Olympics is such a spectical , not so much still in 1980.

The caldron makes Atlanta look super nice, The area is now the local soccer field snap a big horse showing park.
