Any place at all I wanted to go for my bday and I picked an old favorite of ours that we have not been to in a really long time, not at all sure why. It is in an not all that large of a normal house off the beaten path away from all the lake side restaurants there in town. Small inside, I am sure they say cozy.
Casa de Pasta
right down the road a bit in Canandaiuga
Old school Italian, red sauce if you want it, but branching out. Butchers paper on the tables.
This is the reason we went, the best calamari around, it is deep fried with hot banana peppers and tomatoes. The veggies fried along with the squid - then squirted with lemon. It really is one of my favorite dishes ever.
Big salad, which i have just been jonesing for since they have been off Neil's diet for the duration of his treatments.
Neil's Scallops and Artichokes in a Pesto Sauce over Linguine.
He loved it, the portions here are massive and he ate every bite
Mine : Pork Pizziola. A massive porterhouse pork chop covered in zucchini, mushrooms onions and peppers all in a little bit of a spicy marinara. The smokey wood grilled pork and the veggies in sauce are just fantastic. Half of this is down stairs in the fridge. This was the second best thing of the night. A choice of sides, the special tonight was this very lite, airy vegtable risotto . I have no idea how their chef gets this to a texture like this...
