Henrik Rummel
part of the BRONZE winning
US MEN'S FOUR ROWING TEAM
there is a theme starting here |
From the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle : Years of hard work in the weight room and in the boat paid off for Henrik Rummel on Saturday. Born in Denmark and a resident of Sweden before his family moved to Pittsford, the 24-year-old Rummel and his three teammates won the bronze medal in men’s four rowing at Dorney Lake at the London Olympics.
There were years of sacrifice, years of highs and lows for Rummel, who began rowing when he was 14 and went to his first national camp the following year.
Rummel is a 2005 graduate of Pittsford Mendon High School. ( which is just right up the road! )
“You have to make a lot of sacrifices to get here, but it’s definitely” worth it, said Rummel, holding a bouquet of flowers as the bronze medal hung on his neck.
