President Bill Clinton hit the Flower City running today as he is - well , everywhere - stumping for Democrats, this afternoon our soon to be redistricted Congresswoman Kathy Hochul and Rochester's Louise Slaugther. Both in somewhat tight races - Mine is in the most GOP leaning part of NY State. She replaced one of the naked Congressmen that were up here lately in a special election two years ago. Lots of people in this very funky old space. It had to be moved here because there was so much interest...

Bringing out the big guns!

I think I first saw Bill Clinton Fall of '92 on the Decatur High School football field. The now infamous REM statement by icon John Lewis . Yes, Bill Clinton, John Lewis and Michael Stipe all on the same stage. I may have seen him on the streets of downtown Atlanta Summer of 88, when he was the key note speaker at the Dukakis' convention. Hillary was at a big downtown rally in 92 - but I think it was just Hillary and Tipper.

Beth and I made the big trip to Little Rock for the '96 election - the night I learned that the secret service does NOT play around . I also saw him and Hillary in New York City at at a NYSUT event... 

 Event had to be moved from the modern downtown Convention Center to this big old dinosaur of a building , holds more people

 You could not see the end of the line of people, only two nut jobs that we saw.

Very sort of , surprisingly low key and informal - two speakers before all the two candidates and President walked out. Hochul speaking first, then Louise. ( who btw is from Kentucky, been here for ever, but still has the accent, as does the President, I was in High Cotton! )

The  President was his on fire populist self from the Democratic convention.
