IOC to cut wrestling from Olympic Games

In a somewhat shocking development today,  the International Olympic Committee , meeting in Switzerland has voted to drop Wrestling from the games starting in 2020.   Trying to keep the colossal event to 25 game core, the IOC was expected to drop Modern Pentathlon. ( A personal favorite of mine, seriously ) Among the criteria considered were the sport's television ratings, ticket sales , anti-doping policy and - this is the kicker - global participation and popularity. Just like softball which was also dropped last go round, the USA tends to dominate Olympic Wrestling.
