Dreary downtown day....

Just cool, drizzly grey day here, not like in Atlanta where a tornado hit like a mile from Dana's house.

Hope everyone down there is fine...

Happy Trails!

THIS IS A TOTAL STOCK PHOTO!
The new camera died upon first use on the
trail today, it eats batteries the way Pylon
used to eat dub.

BUT,  It was a very nice day out on the trail today. After doing an exhaustive search for villagers with pitchforks or torches, Koda and I ,very sunglassed, snuck out for a nice little two mile  jaunt.

Big News Around Here.....

Ya'll know me and the Wanker don't know shit about Pro Football, but for the most part folks around here are coo-coo for the Buffalo Bills. This is the game winning pass in overtime:

BUT WAIT!

Turns out it was NOT this guys fault he dropped the ball, but God's :
( this is what he twittered post game )

That sound you hear.....

Is the Lunt - Fontanne's spinning in their graves.....

Spiderman : Turn off the Dark opened on broadway last night in the Foxwoods Theater.( nee´Ford/Hilton ) Theater. From the NYT  : "All $65 million of the new Broadway musical “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” took flight on Sunday night at its first preview performance, but not without bumps. The show stopped five times, mostly to fix technical problems, and Act I ended prematurely, with Spider-Man stuck dangling 10 feet above audience members, while Act II was marred by a nasty catcall during one of the midperformance pauses." ( the rest )

The only real question here is, if they want to get any of this money back, is how are they going to fit Matthew Broderick into the Spiderman suit and Nathan Lane into the Goblin one ? ( or at least get some singing kitties to go along with the spider)

I am not an animal....

Day two of what is now being called the pink scourge. I woke up in full Joseph Merrick mode... but I can find no bag. It may be a light blogging day, since the reflection from the computer before it kicks in scares me.

Glory, Glory !

Just like pretty much the entire season, it was not pretty, but UGA pulls it out in the end, beating the Ramblin' Wreck 'tween the hedges 42-34. Neil made it all the way till the start of the 4th, Koda stuck with me till the bitter end! Dawgs win, Jackets and Gators lose.... all in all a good day!

Only 279 days till we meet the Boise State in the DOME !

The new BCS will look very different tomorrow...

H.B.T.D.

Paging Dr. Nick.......

1000 years ago, back when I was living in Atlanta, my insurance company assigned me a doctor at random. He was sort of a long way from our house, and I am as healthy as all good peasant breeding stock is ( bred to not get sick, I mean, look, my people survived the black death and the  potato famine ) - anyway, he was a nice enough guy, about 300 years old, and I was his youngest patient by like 80 years, really. SO.. .it got to the point if I needed anything I would just call.... no problem.
Now, I have issues with pills..... just do not like to take them, my partner at the time - not so much, and I was calling Dr. Nick quite often. I was depressed, I was anxious, I sprained my ankle and was in great pain, I wanted to lose weight , all over the phone. Pretty sure if I had said I needed a Limbaugh sized dose of Oxycontin it would have been waiting for me at the drug store. You really can not be a college undergrad for as long as I was and not have a really good working knowledge of pharmacology.. ( not that I ever took a pharmacy class...)

SO, this morning I woke up and had the freaking pink eye. YUCK. I called the Doctor ( he is on speed dial here, Neil has his own parking place at the office ) and asked for the Erythromycin eye ointment that I knew I needed. After explaining to two different voices on phone that, " NO! I can not come in to see the doctor, what is this the stone ages? It is game day people ?!?" I was told no soup for you.
sigh

So, I went in. I am at at the contagious state of conjunctivitis... he gave me a big tube of creme for when Neil gets it. And no reindeer games for Kyle today, I will be watching football with just Koda.

The Mendon Pharmacy,
they are very fast.

While we were at the pharmacy we went over the the Mendon Meadows Market ( they are in the same building, Mendon is all about shopping efficiency ) to get a pork shoulder since we would not be eating crock pot bbq over at Dahn's today, they did not have one, so we ran over to BJ's where I got a free paring knife if I listen to the Ginsu knife guy give his spiel.

Harvey Milk : May 22, 1930 - November 27, 1978

Good Clean Old Fashioned Hate....

Glory, Glory to Old Georgia
Glory, Glory to Old Georgia,
Glory, Glory to Old Georgia,
and to hell with Georgia Tech!

OR

I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer,
A helluva, helluva, helluva, hell of an engineer,
Like all the jolly good fellows, I drink my whiskey clear,
I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and a hell of an engineer.
Oh, if I had a daughter, sir, I'd dress her in White and Gold,
And put her on the campus, to cheer the brave and bold.
But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd do.
He would yell, "To Hell with Georgia," like his daddy used to do.
Oh, I wish I had a barrel of rum and sugar three thousand pounds,
A college bell to put it in and a clapper to stir it around.
I'd drink to all good fellows who come from far and near.
I'm a ramblin', gamblin', hell of an engineer.

Ok,  so they win the fight song, but that is it !  We have had a sucky year, life has not been good 'tween the hedges OR on the road ( STARKVILLE ?!?) So, today is all about pride... and the North Ave Trade School boys are going down!
A big story tonight is going to be the weather in Athens. A 7:45 kick off and this:
The ice in your Evan and Coke will just stay there longer!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Just in time to get everyone in red and green mode, we here in the Finger Lakes woke up to a nice little dusting of snow this morning, you could all but hear the jingle bells!

 Leaves ?, What leaves ??

Still in Autumnal mode here....

Koda loves the snow...

Bright, sunny, windy, cold...

The one less traveled really only leads to
a sink hole and the creek,

Back in the house.

Oh, My......

Yikes, the day of the big game and BMOC Kyle wakes up with a raging case of :

NO photos to follow.

Iron Bowled

Wow... that was some game!   Those ROUGH playing Auburn Tigers looked like National Champs tonight.....

We gathered together.....

OK, right off the bat, I decreed from on high, that this would be MELLOW THANKSGIVING... no getting all crazy about time and being a hair less anal about the table.... life is good, " open another bottle of wine ? " , " Sounds like a great idea..." Ommmmmm
The Macy's Parade, the lighting of the RICH's tree.... David dropping his turkey into hot oil...
It was sort of rainy so  he made a little chuppa to keep his oil dry...
Out of the oil and off to resting....
Pre meal crafts.....cause you know, this dinner pretty much just fixed itself!
The table, only nine of us this year, after like 30 last year, there for it could be mellow Thanksgiving

The beverage table, where I spelled THanksgiving wrong....
Someone left the cake out in the rain....( Dan and Grady's tdf Carrot cake, it was fine...)
Thanksgiving Advent

Neil was the mixologist, with seasonal garni! The were very pretty cocktails, we should have taken a photo.
The traditional family Thanksgiving, with iPhone....

everything seems to be in order

The Horsma Turducken !!

‎"turducken was good. Emma and Bengt liked the variety. Nicholas and I pretty much just liked the turkey. I don't like duck anyway. So Bengt did a great job, and it was pretty, and cooked perfectly! but I'm a traditional girl." - from Angie Grill...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hey k+b readers... send me some pictures of your table and meal...

dinner

Chicken Marsala
Roasted herbed potatoes
Acorn squash with arugula
and dried cranberries

The one where:

Kyle and Neil leave the Aryan lily whiteness of the greater Mendon-Pittsford area and travel to the barely ecru tented Rochester in search of large bunches of collard greens.

But first a visit to the palatial offices of Integrity USA

Where we get a rare John-Clinton Bradley sighting! Seen here in his native habitat: on a conference call discussing how many glbt angels can dance on the head of a pin, with their arms in the air like they just don't care.

Then off to the Shop Right! ( or is it Price Chopper ?) in search of some greens for our Thanksgiving Dinner. You will never see the truck backed up to the front of the store with giant bundles of greens ala College Park up here ,ever. Wegmans does sell collard greens every day, BUT, either in pre cut packages , where they DO NOT remove the stems or in these little tiny spinach looking bunches that post cooking would be a big tablespoon of greens.

SUCCESS!
A variety of smoked meats, including turkey tails!

and chicken " paws "
(These will not be on out Thanksgiving table...)

After out adventures in Rochester, we came back to The Reservation, stopping by the Taj Mahal of all liquor stores Wegmans own! Where we saw a 319$ bottle of tequila!

Popped into the mothership the Tuesday before the holiday, right at 5:00 pm . Ummmm... let's just go with not the wisest move for someone with space/agoraphobia and panic issues.

Mountain of sweet potatoes.. AND Wegman's moved stuff around, which they do ALL THE TIME... taking out a whole wall between the produce and the flowers... ( add change to the list of Kyle's neuroses )
