it was great fun, but it was just one of those things

Another one of those weeks when the k+b is feeling the aches and pains of it's cousins the print media. You go to write something and whiz, bang, shazam! the facts about what you are writing or your perceptions of said topic, CHANGE ( i.e. : President Obama and the don't ask/don't tell ) Plus there seems to be just a lot going on, so lets just stick with the tried and true!

WIll and Kate, plus a few billion.
or
There will always be an England!

Hail Britannia! Britannia rules the [air] waves! All of Great Britain and the rest of the television and Internet watching world gave a collective " I feel old" as the handsome young Prince escorted out his lovely bride to be looked at, as if for the very first time. How things have changed in the world. Wills mother was so the blushing bride... Kate much more , seemingly , her own person. We can hope for a better outcome.
Yes, the same ring, but I think that is very sweet, and Miss Kate, really is too  young to remember for herself the OVERKILL that was Diana. Plus the Palace has been sort of grooming this one... not just throwing her to the wolves.

Hmmm.. this is the first I am realizing that it is almost the exact same shade of blue. I guess you do it to show off the ring. Funny how this photo almost seems a little creepy with all the hindsight we have. Yeah, I was up in the middle of the night watching back then, gasp with the rest of the planet when she stepped out of her carriage. Out Disney-ing Disney.

Anyway the new couple ( is really an old couple! ) looks wonderful and happy and we wish them all the best. A little , teeny tiny waring for the future Queen .  Her dress is from Brazilian-born designer Daniella Helayel's line ISSA, off the rack from Harvey Nichols and within 24 hours of this photo being taken, could not be found anyplace on the planet, all bought up.....( other ISSA creations HERE ) Such is your new power, Princess...

Back in the dark ages, the pre internet 1983, then Princess Diana wore this to a polo match , " the sheep sweater".. and several million of them flew off the shelves the next day. A sheep sweater! I do hope you use  your new powers for good.

That sheep sweater was a fashion evil, and should have been destroyed.

OK, I will confess I did a late-night Google image search for the fiance, since this was all new to me. She doesn't look very British, does she? And I'm quite sure she's not wearing stockings in that picture.
