dinner ( last night )

somewhat of a chicken fail.

There is video, but I cant find it

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 12 chicken thighs with skin and bone still on
  • 1 ¾ lb chorizo (whole if baby ones or cut into 4cm / 1½ inch chunks if regular sized)
  • 2 ¼ lb new potatoes (halved)
  • 2 red onions (peeled and roughly chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • grated zest of 1 orange

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C/gas mark 7/425ºF. Put the oil in the bottom of 2 shallow roasting tins, 1 tablespoon in each. Rub the skin of the chicken in the oil, then turn skin-side up, 6 pieces in each tin.
  2. Divide the chorizo sausages and the new potatoes between the 2 tins. Sprinkle the onion and the oregano over, then grate the orange zest over the contents of the 2 tins.
  3. Cook for 1 hour, but after 30 minutes, swap the top tray with the bottom tray in the oven and baste the contents with the orange-coloured juices.

I think maybe that you were supposed to use fresh chorizo and not the cured that I did. All the parts tasted good, just did not really come together. Add a lot more onion, a whole head of garlic - season the chicken well....

This was very good, a raw beet salad in an orange vinaigrette.

different day / same map

We are almost to the point where I can not even remember when it was not raining....

Growing Pains

or

Just a few more schools that don't really matter

Today is the day that the Atlantic Coast Conference takes off! Adding Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and coming soon Louisville. A boon for Basketball, not so much for football,

Just wait old guard, you are about to find out that Yankees really do not do real college football. Yeah sure , the Colgate - Bucknell game can be a barn burner, but really folks THE GAME ( Harvard - Yale ) is not even on the scale of most high school games in the deep south.
And you know, Indiana is on the Atlantic like Missouri is in the South.....

There are all sorts of funky caveats to this, ND is only sort of kind of in the ACC for football and a few others....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SLACK THOMPSON !

HAPPY CANADA DAY !!

WELCOME BLUE HENS !

As of today, the First State gets its equality on!

BLUE IS GOOD

LOOK at this brand new map! with CALIFORNIA out there on the west coast! Let's do some math together.

VERY roughly all these blue states add up to about 94 millionish people ( did you know California has more people than all of Canada ? ). At say 312 million Americans, we are at BOOM : 30%
