Not with a bang... or even a banger....

Passing both Houses of Parliament and getting the Royal Okie - Dokie, marriage equality sailed into England and Wales this week - to take effect sometime in the future all to a roaring collective " huh, what ? " from the British Papers. Not at all sure why its just 1/2 of GB, but you take what you can get .

And yes, goodness knows they do all have a baby on the way ( +2 days and counting ) but really, not a whimper ??
After , seriously, about 45 min of searching - I came up with one story in the Evening Standard - that was just straight forward news, no " sky is falling " or no mention of Lot's wife.... Wacky people, those Brits...
Same sex weddings were today made law as the Queen gave Royal Assent to the gay marriage Act.
There were cheers as Speaker John Bercow announced the historic milestone in the Commons this afternoon.
The first weddings will not take place until summer 2014 because of administrative changes that must be made first.
Gay rights group Stonewall said simply: “Thank you, Ma’am.”
Campaigner and PinkNews.co.uk publisher Benjamin Cohen said: “Giving gay couples the right to marry will make our nation a more tolerant, open and welcoming place to live in and significantly increase the life prospects of so many people.
“It is absolutely fantastic that this change in the law, almost uniquely, was proposed by a Conservative prime minister and his Liberal Democrat Deputy with the support of the Labour party leader.
“Sometimes politicians can work together for the common good and this is a stunning example of this.”
