An interesting little picture book story from HuffPo this hot summer morning -
2004 Athens Games
All the hullabaloo at the time over the commercialization of the games, etc there on those very vendor crowded streets of Atlanta, but seeing these photos makes you know that my home town did it right . As far as I know - and could be wrong - the vast majority of Atlanta venues were re purposed and still in use. And a very quick google says that Atlanta '96 was the last Olympic games to make a profit.....
