ROAD TRIP !!

CORNING , NEW YORK
Yes, the home of " Corningware "!

It is a surprisingly artsy little town, has a real sort of Athens Ga feel to it, although Neil said there is no college here. Streets just full of little funky gift shops all decked out for the Holidays.
We went down to meet a friend for lunch in a restaurant Neil said I would just love and he was right!  Its almost like a speak easy, if you really did not know it was there you would not find it. Up some creaky kind of dark stairs to
Pretty much someone apartment. If it had not been here for a really long time, I would highly doubt it was legal, really, its just a normal apartment kitchen - a dorm fridge on the side, sodas/water, 75 cents, serve yourself. Menu is just sheets of paper tacked up on the wall, should have taken a pic.
 decor is early yard sale
Here is the thing, its off the charts good, VERY authentic Japanese food!  Udon bowl with fried shrimp. BIG bowl of velvety rich, complex broth, full of toothsome perfectly cooked noodles, and 5-6 big tempura shrimp and assorted veggies. 8 dollars!  I would eat here every other day if it were local! It is a very nice Japanese lady whose husband was a master etcher at Corning/Steuben - photos of his amazing art work are all over the walls.
Yall know how much I love plastic Japanese food!!

A fun little adventure!
