This is a major step for us , it took us forever to pick out this counter top. I do not like the granite that the rest of the world seems to love. I dont care for the random vein of color that seems to be in all of it, so we were in a pickle.
Well no, we both loved this one full set up that was in Lowes, I think , the two stores have run together in my brain these days, that was a solid dark green counter top with some depth to it, and a cream ceramic sink. I really liked the look. But the little square that the store gives you of the product had a big scratch on it - and the guy timidly told us that the " solid surface " that is was scratches really easily- and I am a bad about that sort of thing, so back to square one.
Then were was this SPECIAL deal at home depot for a granite that I did like - was sort of pink and grey and really inexpensive - but it was a full on bait and switch sort of deal and only ONLY came in these set sizes and there could be no cut outs or angles or something, it was all very convoluted.
So we ended up with this grey flecked with brown - which totally matches our cabinets that we do want to keep since they are in the same oak as the rest of our house, just maybe update them or something - not there yet.
They have to dry / settle for 24ish hours before you can really do anything with the counters so our house is still a giant mess - but soon things will be better
Painting tomorrow or the next day - and rethinking our back splash options once the stone was in... I will keep y'all updated
Our new much larger island, with Neil and Koda eating cold store bought fried chicken.
