Dahn's friend Tanya's husband Michael. ( and really, don't pretty much all good southern stories start out with that sentence) Michael was the promotions guy for the Jacksonville, Florida SUNS baseball team ( I think that was the team ) . He came up with the utterly BRILLIANT idea of having.... TANYA HARDING MINI BAT NIGHT ( !!! ) at the stadium. Yes, everyone coming into the game was given a tiny bat, very suitable for whacking a Nancy Kerrigan on the leg.
BUT WAIT, it gets better. They ask the real Tanya Harding and her mother to come to Jacksonville to sign the mini bats, and she says YES. Its a SNL skit come to life. Until today that was the all time best baseball give away, there is a new one in the running.
The St. Paul Minnesota Saints , are this Sunday, giving away a Senator Larry Craig BOBBLE FOOT DOLL. Look for in Monday on E-bay.
