My best, best, best, best , best pal, Nate Silver * is taking a look at all 50 states and  DC for a political breakdown. Today is my home state of Georgia's turn.

No surprises or anything, just the red getting redder and the poor getting children. But, what is interesting' coming from the pride of Emory , Merle Black and political science professor at UGA, Charles S. Bullock lll  is the fact that the future may be a little more like the past , with the Peach State starting to look a tiny , maybe sort of a little bit more  like Va or NC than it's hooded neighbors to the west...there are the stirrings of a hint of purple coming into the deepest of red
( its the fact yall are getting more colored folks,don't worry, the vast majority of whites will still be pure)  


Not a worry for Scrooge McDuck Governor Romney at all this coming election - just a possible sign of things to come, anyway here you go :

Now I have gone down a rabbit hole of the history of Georgia politics, when I really do have a bunch of stuff to do this morning.

I LOVE this little graph, I hope it embiggens well, if not, just look at the colors , it's not hard to figure out. 1984 is the year of change.... no comment there, with the blip of blue being 1992 when our old friend Bill Clinton, who with all thanks to Ross Perot took Georgia by 309, 657 votes [ see Kyle/Steve/Susan/Paul literally dancing in the streets ] The red/yellow before is that Goldwater, Wallace , Nixon time of the sixties.... crazy times indeed...

according to team Silver and the 538ers - WHO ARE NEVER WRONG , the abomination that is Obamacare JUST , as of July 2 turned Ohio and Florida those LOVELY pale blue shades.... suck it, GOP.... ( and YES YES YES.. it is EARLY EARLY EARLY with that billion dollar bomb still to go off.. but let me have my fun on this hot Summer morning...)
