Ward -n- Me

Opening Night of the 93rd Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra!
With their still new conducted and musical director

WARD STARE

Who I have been hard crushing on since it was announced last year that he was coming home - he is a Rochester native - to take the job . He is the HOT new conductor in music circles . Yes, he is just as cute as a bug in a rug - but, the 33 yo Julliand grad is so much more. The music just flows through him when he conducts - he wills each note out of each player. Dancing , jumping, all over the podium/ stage thing.

He came out pre show to tell us what we were going to be hearing tonight , back ground on the pieces, why he chose them etc. Such a nice way to kick things off, connecting with the audience and telling us things to look for in each piece

It is such a lovely theater, and some how - not really sure why, our tickets were on the very first row, maybe we got them late. GREAT view of Mr Ward - not so much the players in the back.

Mr Ward really is a rock star - thunderous applause for him and the RPO after the concert, calls and whistles , people very excited. You could tell the members of the RPO were excited as well - it was just a very fun overall night . Hope to do it again soon.
We, and a lot of people went all fan boy afterwards and got him to sign our programs

He spent time with each person , were were close to the front, everyone else rushed to get the free cookies that Wegmans had brought for folks.
