#poorwhitetrashlivesmatter

We joined a large part of the country and did a full blown NETFLIX BINGE of their new show
THE MAKING OF A MURDERER. Rare for me to do the full binge things - I just don't have the patience to sit and watch the same thing for hour on hour. I had been reading a few things about this show, and then on New Years Eve Anderson Cooper was talking about it. So, last night around 10 we started the very first one out of ten hour, hour plus episodes. Obsessed we started this afternoon and went clear through to Downton Abbey.

One family in rural Wisconsin that is the " family everyone in town knows about ", and their journey fair or unfair through the Wisconsin courts . You are really captivated from the get go - and I am not a true crime guy, that is Neil's pastime. But there is just something about the family that this documentary is about. Filmed over a 10 year time span it goes deep in the belly of the beast that is rural American justice. Just like Star Wars I don't want to give away any spoilers, which is going to be hard for folks that have not seen it yet as its popularity grows.

Obviously a very low budget, sort of a point and shoot style the relying on local news feeds and public record video you are in all honestly mesmerized and Neil and I both were yelling at the screen and doing audible gasps. There are heart retching twists and turns ... and an ending that I won't go into.

I am not sure it is for everyone, #1 you have to sit through 10 hours of tv - but it is as raw and honest as any television you will ever see. It does drag in the end - as it would, and there are many complaints out there that it loses sight of the victim ( of which there are WAY more than one ) . You are a fly on the wall to a system that you hope you are never a part of.
