The Deep South's Oldest Rivalry

A little bit of old school panic swept the Classic City and that lovely village on that plain, as the new SEC laid  down some law, would we make it to game 121 years in 2013?
Money is the new God in college football and that whole tradition thing is out the window, see : Texas A&M v Texas ( which played 117 times!!! ) Fear not , because everyone came to their senses and figured out a way to keep us playing.

The SEC powers that be meeting in Destin this week adopted a 6-1-1 format: six games against division opponents, one game against a permanent cross-division opponent (Auburn in Georgia’s case) and one game against a rotating cross-division opponent. “That was our priority all along, to maintain that series with Auburn,” UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said. “… Every school has their own agenda, but at the end of the day, it’s what was best for the SEC.”
The other annual cross-division games will be :
  • Alabama-Tennessee ( the famous third Saturday in October - back in the day this was a HUGE game, for both teams, deep in tradition )
  •  Florida-LSU ( two powerhouse teams, as a rule )
  •  Arkansas-Missouri ( they are close right? )
  •  South Carolina-Texas A&M ( somebody had too....)
  •  Kentucky-Mississippi State ( yeah...)
  •  Ole Miss-Vanderbilt. ( the J. Crew Bowl )
