love free or die

The Rochester Jewish Community Center is hosting  for a month ( plus ) the :United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Traveling Exhibition : Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals 1933 - 1945. Along with the exhibition, they are holding weekly symposiums on religion and homosexuality, coming at it from all sorts of different angles, with movies, plays, discussion groups, etc. Really opening going all out . Tonight it was the Episcopalians turn at bat with a screening of the latest Gene Robinson bio pic :

LOVE FREE OF DIE
the Gene Robinson story

This film sort of pics up where FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO, left off, thankfully with much less Reitans. It's 2008, and all the Anglicans that be gather in England , the motherland, for their once ever decade tea with the queen. EVERY bishop in the Anglican Communion is invited.... except little New Hampshire of that back water Episcopalian Church.....hi jinks ensue as Bishop Robinson goes anyway!

I am being flippant, and I really should not be, it is a very moving film, and made for people that know nothing about the whole shebang, not those who lived it. It was made to be shown on Independent Lens on PBS all will be so in the near future

A very nice turn out..... 60 + folks
Our pal Michael sort of hosted the event.
He is all over the movie, as was Neil for just a second.... I will hunt for a still
The Pride of Bath, the newly skinny Brad and Carl
because..

This is part of the exhibit, and it explains in Nazi how one homosexual has enough, I don't know , fairy dust, to infect 8 other people into becoming homosexual
Photos of men from the last time Gay men were rounded up and put in big pens

This is the next to last panel in the exhibit that is broken down by year.. I need to check and see if it is online... anyway WAR IS OVER... The US and Soviets open up all the concentration camps, freeing all the people that had been thought the worst hell on earth that man can do to his fellow man.... ALL EXCEPT the dirty homosexuals.. no, they stayed in jail.... I NEVER KNEW THIS.....

Many thanks to the very good folks , and their benefactors, there at the JCC for hosting this event.

yes, HERE is a link to the USHM traveling exhibit
