dinner

An old pal of Neil's from college came to visit this afternoon, she was a most lovely person. The two of them had a wonderful visit.
This dinner was an homage to my first posslq,
Miss Sandra " simi home made " Lee
 easy salad
Salmon, that I marinated in a little soy/miso/brown sugar/olive oil... it really was very tasty. Roasted Garlic mashed potatoes, and sugar snaps
 Strawberry tort with chocolate
It's one of those pre made shells. Melt a little dark chocolate over a double boiler, not much really, 1/4 a bag of chips ( left over from the DRUNKEN coconut macaroons from the other night ) spread a thin coating on the sponge.
These were local strawberries, very good for this early in the year. Added a little bit of sugar and let sit for a bit, then arranged on the cake.
melted a little raspberry jam and painted the berries
then at the last min just added some freshly whipped , not too sweet , cream... looks great.
If I do this again, and it was so easy that I will, I will add just a little something to the base pre chocolate.. orange juice or just a little simple syrup, make it a little more moist.
