BUT!  Let's start with a preface:

Nate Silvers handy dandy up to the minute poll of polls. He takes in numbers does his eye of newt / toe of frog thing and gives us this chart. Let's take away the devastating graph - and yes, The Obama Campaign's post debate crash has been devastating, maybe unprecedented - but let's do away with that and look at just the numbers.

There is not a Yellow Dog out there that would not be skipping with joy at THESE exact numbers TWENTY DAYS OUT!!!! and this is yesterday [ Tuesday ] no debate in there. The free fall had ended on its own, and was ticking back up.

TONIGHT

What a difference a day two weeks makes!!!

Who knows what the hell happened at that first debate. Neil's theory is that the Obama people saw those 98 -2 % polls and just phoned it in. I guess I have to agree with him. But , so not tonight! 

Coming out swinging hard, the President landed body blow after body blow  - landing what could have be the coup-de-grace in the Libya exchange:

Mitts and the Blonds had prepared for this one - and they got smacked in their magic undies.... That truth thing, I tell you what....
The President was totally on point tonight - and had Romney on the ropes. It was NOT the self inflicted  beat down that happened in the first one, I'm not going to say it was - but it was exactly what we as a party and a people needed.
