Yeah, I have been laying low.... post what has become last Thursdays POTUS meltdown. But let's backtrack for just a min here.

Three hundred million ,or four, years ago the media ( all media ) had a big ass bacchanal with the Summer of Clinton/Obama and the forced probe that became THE Palins. This was high cotton and glory days to be on tv covering politics, for both sides.

This go round, not so much - the GOP featuring Mitt and the Blonds were  - close to being down and out in La Jolla, with the President getting close to 99% chance of winning. Sleepy times at MSNBC and FOX... Then the first debate. BOOM! with the lackluster job , VERY lackluster job the President did - ROMNEY IS ON FIRE....and the Edward R. Murrow trench coats ( or super short skirts on well endowed women) were out of the moth balls - We had a horse race!!! Which prompted both sides to amp up the atomic fire ball rhetoric, making what was a NOT GOOD situation, a truly bad one for the Democrats. ( or so it seemed on cable....)

Now if the graph on the right had been the story all along, the panic would not have been as viral - but it is what it is - AND , WE ARE STILL WINNING - so all that bit of a tempest in a tea cup brings us to last night:

The Vice Presidential Debate '12

Sigh.... her ghost was all over this. It's 2012 and Dancing with the Stars rules - that's all. Two things made this debate more important than it would have been.

1. The need for the Democrats to stop the bleeding that had been gushing for a week
2. Sarah Palin said " can I call you Joe "

So, there was more than the usual media hype.

I think the Vice President did more that stop the bleeding  - I think he shut Paul Ryan down. But Congressman Ryan is NOT new to me - and his extreme views are NOT main stream in any way. Bidens win was not the slam dunk that Romney had - a win, but not a WIN. If you did not like Joe Biden going into this, you really did not like Joe Biden coming out of this ( I for one LOVE Joe Biden and have since 1987..... ) Ryan seemed LOST on foreign policy and his extreme views on women's rights and social services were made obvious

Andrew Sullivan who went completely lock him up now crazy after last weeks debate ended up shit faced after doing a shot of jager every time Ryan told an out right researchable lie.

Was this the mini gamechager that the first one was, NO... did it help - YES.....
