Some Monday morning quarter backing to go along with your coffee and Bulldog Pop Tart

We are far ,far, far, from fair weather....

They were still fishing out those aluminum beer bottles from the nooks and crannies of Turner Field on Saturday when our DAWGS crashed and burned Hindenburg style, in Columbia, SC.
Not wanting to be left out of the party, some uber cool fan - or car load of drunken college kids - " egged and rolled " the house in Athens shared by UGA qb Aaron Murry and Senior linebacker Christian Robinson.
From the AP  : " Georgia coach Mark Richt said he hadn’t heard of the players’ home being hit with eggs and littered with toilet paper until he was asked about the incident on his weekly teleconference Sunday afternoon.
“Sometimes that comes with the territory,” he said. “You’re a public figure and people get upset about things. It’s sad something like that would happen but it’s not shocking people get criticism or something like that happened to them when they’re in the type position those guys are in, especially the quarterback position.”
Richt said every quarterback he has coached since he was an assistant coach at Florida State has had to have unlisted telephone numbers “because you know there’s going to be somebody to call and say something foolish after the emotion of a game. Unfortunately, it’s part of it.”
Six hours after tweeting about the ugly scene at his home, Robinson followed with another post that seemed to follow Richt’s advice.
“Still get to be a hero this morning to little kids at Athens Church,” Robinson tweeted. “There are more important things in life than wins and losses.”

This is the thing about UGA football that is different that much of the rest of the SEC. Folks in Georgia - folks in Atlanta Metro - all ALL those zillions of Hope Scholarship parents - mostly - came from somewhere else . YES, they bleed red and black now - but one tiny scratch of the body paint shows that daddy or grand daddy LOVED Michigan State . So, yes, in August every year : WE LOVE OUR BULLDOGS!!  but come this first big loss, we are , and mostly for the last 25 years : FIRE THE DAMN COACH...
They came out loud and clear all over the new media universe Sunday : Why oh why cant we win the big one?????

Now long time readers of this little art project know what my answer to The Dawgs woes has been for years and years , although it has cooled a bit in the last couple: " Too much Jesus, not enough football " . Mark Richt IS WHO HE IS, which from every single source seems to be a really really great guy, AND a pretty darn good football coach, just NOT a Spurrier , Saben or Miles....

I could be wrong - really - because the Good Lord knows, ( and is ok with ) ,the fact that all that Fellowship of Christian Athlete ... stuff .. that these boys are SATURATED In from like age 8 - is more than lost on me . BUT, would a player for Spurrier , Saben or Miles say that last sentence that Christian Robinson tweeted : “Still get to be a hero this morning to little kids at Athens Church,” Robinson tweeted. “There are more important things in life than wins and losses.”

See, here is the deal - yeah, playing with the little kiddies over at what ever Richt approved church is a good thing. Very good thing, but what exactly are you their hero for Mr. Robinson ?? I'm guessing its because you are on the FOOTBALL team and not for something else. YES - YES 'a zillion times over' SEC folks take college football too seriously! ( SEE Auburn Trees ) but that is the nature of the beast. Until Coach Richt makes these guys realizes that while they are on that field , wearing all those pads and such that THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT THAT WINS AND LOSSES !!! The University of Georgia football team will be a second tier SEC team....

I am still in shock how pathetic LSU's offense is. We seem to run on first and second down and throw on third down. Soooo... predictable. With all of our injuries, we may be facing four losses this year. :(
