The Dog Bowl

The Junkyard Dawgs
The Junkyard Vols
How the mighty have fallen.

OK, lets start with "ouch", as Kirk just called us irrelevant in the SEC.
  • First time since 1906 !!!  That Tennessee AND Georgia have had losing records at their annual meeting.
  • Only the second time since WWII that NEITHER team has been ranked ( not that we are not both rank...)
  • IF we loose.... will be UGA's longest losing streak in like 60 years.
Seth Emerson's BULLDOGS BLOG is reporting from 'tween the hedges this morning:

10:15 a.m.

They're playing Flock of Seagulls here at Sanford Stadium. And I ran ... I ran so far away ...
If Georgia doesn't win today, Mark Richt and his players may need to run so far away from Athens before they get tarred and feathered by the fan base.
Actually, these are two weary fan bases. The traffic around the stadium was light, and there don't appear to a plethora of Volunteer fans here either. It's a sellout, but it took until the day of the game for that to happen: Who would've thought that would be the case for a Georgia-Tennessee game?

Back in the way way back day, when men were men and you could drink ANYWHERE on campus. The Tennessee Vol Nation rolled into Athens Thursday afternoon and set up camp. Waking up to Rocky Top is not so much fun.
Barbara is there, in full Orange to see her son Derek's homecoming. Daddy Vince has the good taste to watch from home " no way I can root against UGA inside Sanford Stadium"
My pals John and John are there in full tailgate mode, posting pics, I'll repost if any are good to help ya'll " get the picture"
