A WONDERFUL DAY !

Remember these boys ?

You want a game changer boys and girls ?
How about having a red blooded U.S. Marine coming home
after six months of fighting for his country ,jumping into the arms of the person he loves.
And just for a little icing on the cake let's do it in front of a freaking giant American flag.
Marine Sgt. Brandon Morgan returned Feb. 22 from Afghanistan to Hawaii and jumped into partner Dalan Wells' arms. (Morgan is 5-feet 11-inches tall; Wells is 6-foot-6.)
The friend that took the photo posted it on his facebook page and a day later it was all over the world.

Yeah, last year our new best pals blew up the internet - going super viral

St . John's Episcopal Church
Honeoye Falls, New York
Rev. Dahn Gandell
Turns out that Dalan is from here!  His folks go to our church, and live right down the road!
 Dahn marries Dalan and Brandon!
Neil did the beautiful flowers from his garden.
I'll post a better pic of them when I get one..
These are posed pic, I did not want to disturb the lovely ceremony. We were the witnesses - and the only guests, it was a quickie, ( legal stuff - just like we did ) with a big one to follow later on. I told them I was going to sing O Promise Me, and started flipping through my iphone. Neil got misty.
Dalan's Dad

THEN
Afterwards Dahn , most graciously, hosted the wedding party for a wonderful luncheon at Next Door Bar and Grill!
A very nice private room
( but you could still see out into the restaurant )

Brandon is a turophile,
so Dahn had the chef start us off with a fantastic cheese tray.
The middle was this brandied/candied apple pair that was out of this world
Yukka fries!

Dahn had champagne waiting when we got there and
bloodies through out!
Dahn and Neil had a Avocado and Crab Salad
I had the daily Bento Box!
( spicy tuna roll / salmon- was VERY good!! )

DESSERT
It was also Brandon's birthday! ( easy to remember  your anniversary )
So some candles in the Passion Fruit Tart
 A SMORES tort
pistachio creme brulee
 us!
The Newlyweds!

LOVE!

Group Shot
That is Dalan's brother beside me
Like every newly married couple in the greater Rochester / Finger Lakes area - the happy couple went to WEGMANS post nuptials!

It was just a very nice day - thanks to the boys and family , and Dahn for including us in the event!

So glad to see this. Their homecoming photo was incredible and to see them continuing to build their life together is wonderful.

Absolutely wonderful! Congratulations to the newlyweds! My partner (of 21 years) and I are flying to Rochester next year to get married. (We live in Georgia, but I'm from Western NY and my brother lives in Fairport.)

Since it's tradition, we'll definitely have to stop at Wegman's afterwards!

YAY!!!!! I was already very grateful for your service and respective sacrifice of being apart at long stretches.
I'm so happy for you gentlemen!
I'm even more happy that this nation is more and more showing the same fairness and gratitude LONG overdue.
Bless your union, be well and live long in love and happiness!! xo

In the "small world" department...

Prior to moving to the Seattle area in 2005, my partner (soon to be husband) Gary and I lived in Corn Hill and were active members of D/I Rochester, where we worked with Neil quite a bit and attended several services at Two Saints presided over by Dahn. So imagine my surprise at coming here from Joe My God. The Wegmans reference was a nice touch. ;-)

Good to see you're all doing well and of course congratulations to the happy couple!
