A NAIL IN THE COFFIN OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND DECENT IN THE WORLD

Macy's Great Tree Lighting Moving to
Sunday Before Thanksgiving

From WSB TV

One of the grandest of Atlanta holiday traditions is undergoing a big change this season.
For the first time in 68 years, the annual lighting of Macy’s Great Tree at Lenox Square will take place on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, Channel 2 Action News reported Tuesday.Until now, the ceremony was held on Thanksgiving night.Until now, the ceremony was held on Thanksgiving night. A Macy’s store manager explained that the date change is what customers want, although some shoppers told Channel 2 they liked having the event just where it was on the calendar.
This isn’t the first major change to the celebration, however. Just two years ago, Macy’s began using an artificial tree (56 feet tall and bearing 45,000 lights) instead of a live one.

Also a nail in the coffin of anything that even comes close to journalism - ONE WOULD THINK that the WSB station that has carried the lighting of said tree forever - with Monica herself hitting that high note in O NIGHT DIVINE - would mention TWO OTHER CHANGES that have happened to said great tree ....
