SHORTEST DAY OF THE YEAR

Always a bigger deal than the longest day of the year. The first day of winter comes with the hope of spring, the hope of rebirth after the trials of the coming season. Celebrated in almost every culture both modern and ancient . Welcome
Out and about today , the traffic and rush only growing over the next couple of days.
We are close to set for the duration.

The gloming or just before it - so hard for all of us up here to wrap our heads around this new normal of shirt sleeves Christmas, let alone the first day of winter. Record heat coming later in the week, a down right balmy Christmas Eve for us here in the Finger Lakes.

These have been up for a while down the street, we are still no sure of them - they move in the wind...
Neil promising to be finished .... we shall see. I bet you can see our yard from space.
