Rachel Maddow has lately been starting her show with a good twenty minute monologue to set the tone and topic of the show to follow. Last night she jumped all over the 12-8-15 topic of the day DONALD TRUMP IS A FASCIST. All day long that drum beat grew louder - we may or may not get into whether he is or not somewhere down the blogger road, but not in this one
In her reasoning Rachel brought up the UK's Max Mosely - as one does talking about modern day fascists - but also went old old school and spoke of Unity Mitford ( whose parents named her Unity VALKYRIE Mitford - and were then shocked when she went all master race...). One of the beyond famous at the time MITFORD SISTERS from England between the wars. You know I was lost on line for the rest of the night visiting old stories and photos.
I came across the odd little film from BBC - which may be the very best thing I have ever watched. If you care nothing of history or fashion or young pretty things being young and pretty - watch this if only to hear the dinosaur of English spoken in heightened received pronunciation .The final " coming out " before the war. It is one of those films that I want to crawl into and live.
