What a shock, you get so very used to faces and voices. You don't know them, but they really are a part of your , at least someone who watches A LOT of political coverage, lives. Very sad, and from all accounts, even from the most tedious and long winded Sally Quinn, a GENUINELY nice guy.
We get a Buffalo TV station here, and I have never really seen such real loss in a city that was not a mayor or something. The people of Western NY - ( I think I am still "upstate" NY, as far as I can tell, the line must be the Genesee River or something close) - LOVED Tim Russert, and he loved them back. Never failing to be the #1 Cheerleader for the Bills and Sabers. That area , and this area, all of Upstate NY really, has been hit hard with job loss and people leaving, etc., and he was a much needed point of light.
He will be missed on many fronts. Very sad way to go out, well, sad for those left behind, but for him, to go out 101% on top, a life very well lived.
