Big Friday night edition.

Post late night Koda walk, I am doing a little mid night ironing so the husband will have something to wear to an all day Church meeting tomorrow ( no singing or dinner on the grounds, these are Yankee Episcopalians.) I mean, sure , as a gay man I was hopped up to the gills on Ketamine while ironing,we do our part to keep the prop 8-ters happy.

Click the tv on, which had been on MSNBC all day long, just as background noise, being Friday night, it's the lockdown, lockup, all prison, all the time hours. I had already watched the House Hunters International ( Ottawa.. not all that foreign ) So, I just leave it on lockdown, up, what ever. Pendleton Juvenile Prison , in somewhere Indiana. These are BAD BAD boys.. not like in, " that Johnny is no good....". These are hard core little criminal thugs, at 17 and 18. The good liberal in me , you know.. all can be made good... etc...

So, I am watching, and this one little guy, some bad ass gang banger... all sorts of nasty nasty things in his past, in and out of juvie since like age 5 when after sticking little Susie's pigtail in the ink well, beat the crap out of her and stole her mother's car. Bad kid.... WHO IS IN THE FUTURE SOLDIER PROGRAM THERE IN PRISON!

Yes, all these little miscreant gangy types doing push ups , and making their beds all military tight " yes WHAT, boy!?!"... Ok, again, the good liberal in me is all, " if this is a way out for these poor souls who did not have enough books as children, good for them". You have seen the movie.. one of them WILL end up with Debra Winger...

So, I am watching this not very bright kid, making his way out of prison, by joining the Navy,... and it hits me. Our cash strapped Government is spending LOTS and LOTS of tax dollars to KICK out highly decorated Air Force Lt Colonel Victor Fehrenbach and West Point grad ARABIC speaking Dan Choi, and bending over backwards to take in this guy ??

I am not begrudging this guys use of the military to better himself, hell no, good for him for taking the initiative to better himself and all that, really, BUT come on, this is just so , so , so not right....

Sometimes you just get a little tired of the fight.....
