From the Canadian National Post : "Friday morning the Duchess was back on theme for Canada Day festivities, albeit not in a Canadian label. For the more formal swearing-in ceremony of 25 new citizens at the Canadian Museum of Civilization and afternoon on Parliament Hill for the Canada Day celebrations, HRH opted for a sedate ivory day dress with an asymmetrical ruffle, royally recycling the same Reiss dress she wore in the official engagement photos shot by Mario Testino. The better to show off her hat! (It’s by a Kate fave, the milliner Lock & Co’s Sylvia Fletcher, the venerable brand also worn by the Duchess at the Trooping of the Colour in June.) Fascinators, hats and elaborate headpieces are perhaps the Duchess’s one outlet of whimsy and today’s topper is no exception: cocked a bit to the side, it’s a red straw saucer of a fascinator, festooned with a handful of stiff, sculpted maple leaf cutouts that are (thankfully) just this side of Oh-Canada kitsch. It’s more that the edges are cut in the signature shape to suggest the leaf rather than all-out literal. For sparkle, she’s also wearing HM The Queen’s diamond-studded maple leaf brooch (originally presented to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother on her own visit to Canada in 1939), with red pumps and a terrific fan-shaped straw clutch with tassel by London bag designer Anya Hindmarch."
