HEY! Remember football ?

November 1st, or the first Tuesday after the second full moon after Kirk Herbstreets' seventh haircut of the month... something like all of that , the BCS RANKINGS COME OUT! So long writers poll, hit the road coaches.. this is the real deal. This year with surprises!

One, two and three the world is fine with.. but one loss TEXAS A&M over the undefeated Washington Huskies. The SEC hate was strong with this one. I am such a wreck about next Tuesday that I forgot this Tuesday was the day - that and the fact that UGA is a total non factor in all of this, struggling to make a crappy bowl game and all . ( no, really the freaking Kentucky game this weekend MATTERS ! )

I would have loved to see the reaction of the GAMEDAY guys as this news broke. I guess if you are going to lose a game it needs to be to the #1 team in the land. Here is how the rest of the poll came down.

  1. ALABAMA
  2. Clempson
  3. Michigan
  4. TEXAS A&M
  5. Washington
  6. Ohio State
  7. Louisville
  8. Wisconsin
  9. AUBURN ( really! )
  10. Nebraska
  11. FLORIDA
  12. Penn State
  13. LSU
  14. Oklahoma
  15. Colorado
  16. Utah
  17. Baylor
  18. Oklahoma State
  19. Virginia Tech
  20. West Virginia
  21. North Carolina
  22. Florida State
  23. Western Michigan
  24. Boise State
  25. Washington State

Alabama has LSU this weekend followed by Mississippi State, Chattanooga and the Iron Bowl, which this year should doozy - not that is it not pretty much always. LSU could give them some trouble.. then nothing till Auburn.

Clempson has Syracuse, Pittsburg, Wake Forrest and then SC. Thinking they will be just fine with that.

Michigan has Maryland, Iowa, Indiana and then #6 ranked Ohio State in the yankee version of the Iron Bowl. Urban's boys would like nothing better than to knock out the Wolverines.

Texas A&M may have the tuffest time holding on to one of the sacred four spots with Mississippi State, Ole Miss , Texas- San Antonio before finishing off the season with LSU - which will be played THANKSGIVING DAY night 7:30 at Kyle Field. Will have to hold off the Turkey coma for this one.

The simi final games are New Years Eve with Atlanta's PEACH BOWL being one and the Fiestat Bowl being the other. The Championship game is Jan 9 in Tampa.
