Queen ♡ King (s Speech )

Queen Elizabeth saw and enjoyed the movie about her father, George VI. Looks like the rest of the world, including me, loved it as well, as it is steam rolling toward Oscar night, leaving the Facebook Billionaire in its wake. Full story HERE from Huffington Post.

The Weinstein Company is crowing from the rooftops about her thumbs up. Their press release begans : " New York, NY, February 4, 2011 - The Weinstein Company (TWC) is honored to learn that Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth, has enjoyed a private screening of THE KING'S SPEECH, as reported by Duncan Larcombe, Royal Editor, in today's edition of The Sun. The film, directed by Tom Hooper and written by David Seidler, tells the story of Her Majesty's father, King George VI, as he struggles to overcome a crippling speech impediment while grappling with his sudden, unexpected ascension to throne and the mounting danger of Nazi Germany. "

Note to the clacker that is the Weinstein Company press release writer. The rest of the lot are HRH's, The Queen is a " Her Majesty ".

Not to mess up your family blog here with dirty words or nothing...but I thought The King's Speech would have been even more entertaining if they had used some artistic license and instead of being afflicted with a stutter, the King suffered from Tourette's. Then, the moment of triumph and denouement would come when the King gives his speech and succeeds in only referring to his subjects as "bloody cocksuckers" and "limey motherfuckers" once or twice each.

Maybe I should start a new thing over at our joint, "How I Would Re-Write Movies to Make Them Even Better."
