The things I do for you, my readers....

Why, oh why, oh why is the universe pushing me to write about this piece of dried  up goat shit, that is State Rep. Bobby Franklin ( R-east Cobb )??? I never once heard of him until two days ago, and now this religious zealot nut job is in every other story I read this morning.......sigh.. ( cue: hard knock life )

Meet Bobby Franklin, a proud holder of a BA in biblical studies from the other school near Monteagle, Tennessee: Covenant College ( where you can do more than just SEE rock city! ) Mr. Franklin was first elected to the Georgia house of representatives in 1996 , and holds his current seat  until 2013.

• Rep Franklin sits on the state Banks and Banking Committee, and yet feels that paper money is illegal :  "We take an oath to God to uphold the Constitution," said Franklin, who represents the areas where Kell and Lassiter high schools are. "And Article 1, Section 10 says in part, 'no states shall make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts.' And right now we're not doing that. So the state of Georgia is breaking the law. All the states are. And how can we expect the people of this state to obey the laws we pass if we're not obeying the Constitution, if we're breaking the law?" Franklin said.In response, Franklin has authored HB 3, the Constitutional Tender Act, which would require state transactions to be conducted in gold or silver" 
• Rep Franklin is a BIRTHER and wants the Sec. of State of Georgia to personally handle any Presidential candidate that will be on the ballot in Georgia hard copy birth certificate.
• Rep Franklin is against ZONING! ( I can not even make this shit up ). He introduced HB2 : anybody living anywhere in Georiga can have as many of any farm animal they want in their yard. Strip mansion next door ( Cobbco is full of them) wants to have said smelly goat farm? not a darn thing you and  your non goat breeding family can do about it. "Chickens for the eggs and the meat, rabbits for the meat, goats for the milk and you can feed your family, but as you know, Cobb County in its Soviet style central planning,( not really a comparison you hear all that often ) has deemed that you have to have two acres just to have a chicken."
• No real need to go into what Rep Franklin feels about us gays...but just on DADT  :"The Bible says it's a capital offense," Franklin said of homosexuality. "You want someone with unrepentant criminal behavior? And it's not just that, neither should adulterers, neither should thieves, neither should a lot of things. The church is full of sinners, but we're told in 1st Corinthians it rattled off the homosexual, the adulterer, the thief, the liar, and such were some of you, but you've been washed, you've been justified and so forth. It's not what you were. You're not punishing a thought. But do you want an unrepentant drug dealer in the military? Same thing."
• Rep Franklin is against... DRIVER'S LICENSES : "Free people have a common law and constitutional right to travel on the roads and highways that are provided by their government for that purpose," Franklin's legislation states. "Licensing of drivers cannot be required of free people, because taking on the restrictions of a license requires the surrender of an inalienable right." Anyone, any age.. ( seriously, he said 12yo's have the right to drive ) zipping around 285.. think about it...
• He is sort of against THE COURT SYSTEM "Franklin proposed a bill that would form in Georgia a six person legal repeals committee, comprised exclusively of members that have never received a law degree. "None of the members shall have graduated from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association or have ever been admitted to the practice of law in any state." That would have full over view and veto power over court cases....
• Rep Franklin is against  vaccinations : ""That pretty much is a 'my body, my choice,'" Franklin said. "No one should be compelled to undergo invasive medical treatment against their will . I am going to go out on a limb here and guess he is against any public funded health care when the epidemics sweep through the schools...
• WOMEN : Georgia GOP State Representative has introduced a bill that would take the word VICTIM out of rape cases! ( I mean, the slut was out after dark, she was asking for it! )  He wants the law to read rape accuser, not victim. Would not want to hurt any rapist's feelings.....( read more on this from Politicususa ) Also the comments on a infrequently used facebook page. And abortion : not legal in Georgia because Georgia was not a part of ROE in Roe v Wade.. ( you know, the Federal Courts have no jurisdiction in the STATE of Georgia )

Ok, big deal so a little nothing of a no-body slithering around the gold dome in downtown Atlanta, "why is it in any way interesting? " you are asking yourself. It is because NO ONE RUNS AGAINST HIM!  at all!! For those reading this not from Georgia ( I do have a few...) this is not some sparsely populated cotton fields and swampland part of the state, this is the heart of METRO ATLANTA, the suburbiest of the suburbs! Lots and lots and lots of highly educated, well off people....( lots!)
He was first elected to the Georgia House in 1996 [he only moved to Ga in '92]
garnering 4621 unopposed votes in the GOP primary , all that matters in most of Georgia these days. In 2009 a year when John McCain got 70,279 votes ( Barack Obama got 22,350!!!) Mr Franklin only got 19,927 it was only East Cobb.. but still....A little over 14,000 in this last election. SOMEBODY RUN AGAINST THIS FOOL!!!!!!! No one could be any worse....

Two last points in my little daily rant:

1. The son-of-a-gun,  beat you over the head with HIS bible "The God. There's only one. Jesus said that he is the way, the truth and the light, no one comes to the Father except through him. George W. Bush was almost right when he said, 'all religions lead to the same place.' I would say all religions but one lead to the same place. Christianity will lead you to a different place. If you say any religion other than Christianity will get you to Heaven then you're saying Jesus lied, and I'm not going there." This man of God is ... wait for it....DIVORCED!  (GTFO!  I know..) Franklin describes himself as a single man with three grown children, living in east Cobb and attending Chalcedon Presbyterian Church in Cumming. Men who are widowers, say so, do not call themselves single....This little fact is just the icing on the cake.... Theocracy for you, but not for me!
2. Finally this freaking photo of him in what I am guessing is his office at the Georgia State Capitol, not one mile from Ebenezer Church

Sitting right there.. under a cheap print of Robert fucking E. Lee. Very little on the planet chaps my hide as much as coded racism, if you would even call this coded. I'm going to guess there was no KA chapter at his Podunk little Jesus college stuck up there in the mountains, and Mr. Lee was all about Virgina, not the sad backwater that Georgia was. Vile.
