BUTLER IS HOME FROM THE WAR !!!!


I would love to be there for the welcome home party! 
But, I have to say, this no drinking down at the local VFW Hall is pretty damn upsetting.

Look: It’s named Rainbow Post!

I took blog pictures of my recent Saturday night playing bingo at the VFW. Running bingo is the marching band's biggest fund-raiser, so we gathered up a crowd for family night. But the old people kept shushing us and the kids -- they are hard core, let me tell you -- so my friend Carolyne and I left at bingo halftime and went nextdoor to Faces Lounge
. Which is like walking into a David Lynch movie. It was sockhop night. And karaoke. But the karaoke wasn't sockhop music. The bartender (my new bff) was a transvestite in a poodle skirt with a scarf around her neck. We met two Irish guys who told me that "fanny" means "vagina" in Ireland. Various other characters came and went, including a guy who looked like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys
who kept walking buy and shyly saying, "Hi!"
