Church

A lovely break last night from the angst of waiting waiting waiting, like Melanie for her baby that hot Georgia Summer. " Go ahead and scream, no one can hear you..." tick, tick, tick..

So, this has been our week for these FATHOME movie event things, which I just think are fantastic. Tuesday was a marathon of Neil's obsession THE LORD OF THE RINGS with like every added moment etc, on  the BIG screen. fun ( two and three in the coming weeks! ) BUT, last night was something truly special, and something that I really hope catches on.

My deity de jour NPH along with an all star cast, including Ms Lupone, in Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY. It was just a little quickie three day concert at Avery Fisher with the New York Philharmonic this past April, BUT recorded to show in movie theaters, this week. ALL the fun of Broadway ( sort of ) at a zillionth of the price!

It is a lovely very high spirited production, that was well attended at our local theater. The play, which was so out of fashion there for a bit is just the perfect gem of a time capsule. That perfect last gasp of an older New York, with hats and Ladies Who Lunch, ( The Colony? 12:30? see  you there ) With everything crazy that those mad cap Upper East Siders were going through in 1970....

See a musical all about Marriage after the week I have had ?? SURE!
