The third and final report on praying away the gay from CNN
Mixed emotions here. Odd that CNN went with this last short, half-Hispanic guy, for whom the reparative therapy was so many years ago, when the web is FULL of kids right now being ABUSED by their parents RIGHT NOW, 99% of which is being done in the name of JESUS. It happens every day.
There is one bottom line here, and maybe it is some back tracking from yesterday, but, George Reker had a full fledged partner in the death of Kirk Murphy . He did not come to the Murphy family, the parents saw something WRONG with their child and took him to get it burned out. Now, in '72, '73 maybe it was impossible for the mom and dad to see any sort of future for their child, and in their mind, they were doing what was best for him. It is very difficult to get into the mindset of 40+ years ago. But the parents are completely responsible for the horror their child went through.

Times are different, yes, and if you are shocked by Anderson's three part series, good, you should be, but know that this sort of thing happens every single day in this country, little kids, by far mostly little boys are being tortured every single day, with only the hope that it gets better.
