O.K., along with college football, I have one or two other obsessions.
One of these is AMERICAN FIRST LADIES. For those that have been around A LONG TIME, you remember the great, great Oldest Living First Lady Crisis of 1984. For those not aware of this event it involved the Australian Press and my parents being awoke from a sound sleep by many Australians yelling BETTY FORD or PAT NIXON over the phone, the newspaper article did not take into account the time difference.
I was the only person who saw a bright side to the 2003 anthrax scare in Washington, DC, because it meant there was no line at all to see the First Ladies Gowns at the Smithsonian. Red letter, not white powder day. Angela and I braved the wilds of the Bronx on Puerto Rican Day - ( two very white folks in a saab convertible blaring the b-52's , we were the HIT of the parade!) - to see The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Dress Collection at the Met . I will be on pins and needles to see who and what Michelle will wear on the 20th.
All that in mind LOOK what the TIMES did for us today:
This AND a red carpet tonight! I may have to self medicate!
