It's snowing here in Upstate New York, a big flaked soft snow. One the Mall in Washington, DC, there are about a million of so people dancing to SHOUT.( the jumbotrons are replaying this weekends concert) What a country. In England they wait for her Majesty to ride by in a gold coach, in Russia, they watch , or used to, watch missiles roll down the street. Looks like we dance, or at least jump up and down to stay warm.
It took me all of about thirty seconds to puddle up this morning, slept later than I wanted, got up about 7:30, c-span on, and there are people, already all the way down to the Washington Monument. Part of me wishes we were down there, part of me is darn happy not to be in the crowd.
Mr and Mrs Obama are inside St John's Episcopal Church right now, a tradition going back only to FDR ( a good Episcopalian). Michelle seemed to be wearing a beautiful yellow coat and dress, matching the SUN that looks like is shining down there.
9:15, AP is reporting that The park service JUST closed the Mall, it's full.
I am off to make us a nice Inaugural Day breakfast.
Oh, Happy Day......
