Off the charts fascinating "debate" at the Cato Institute, between Andrew Sullivan, Maggie Gallagher , like the best afternoon I have had in a long time. Sometimes I really wish I was not so weird.

Let's just start off with how many times did Andrew go up to his Priest for his atoning ashes, to get that cross dark enough to smack Maggie with??

Way to much of " Gay America" just hates Andrew from the word go. Really, the JMG comment page , is full of nothing but the typing class going on and on over the Catholic Church and how rotten myexexboyfrind is. He stirs up so many passions. Not much talk on " if you can be a gay conservative..." Bread and Circuses....

Right now, February 17th, 2010 being an openly gay Republican,( Conservative) in the vast majority of this country is no different than a Jew voting for Hitler. Period. "Oh, dear G_d, Kyle, really- that fast with the Godwin's law ??" Right off the bat, you go for the Jews and Hitler. Why do you and your people do this?

We believe that legal recognition and the accompanying benefits afforded couples should be preserved for that unique and special union of one man and one woman which has historically been called marriage."

There ,permanent CONSTITUTIONAL second class citizenship. Ms. Gallagher came up with the disgustingly laughable line of she know plenty of Gay Men who were all for this amendment AND voted for Prop 8. Hell yes you do Maggie, and Uncle Peter was happy as a clam being a house slave, next f****ing argument.

So, lets take GOP out of this, and ask the question that the high brow-ed Cato folks asked: Can you be gay and be a Conservative?

Well , sure, why not? Lower taxes, less " Washington", higher military budget.. on and on and on and on. Has nothing at all to do with where you choose of don't choose to stick your wicket! Maybe a much better question would be for the good folks over on Massachusetts Ave would be : " In 2010 can you be an AMERICAN Conservative and be an Atheist????"

Andrew made the point that in 2010, the GOP has become a religious party, not a political one. Listen to once Governor Palin speak, " it's all in God's hands, if it is his will" . The novice political watcher would think that the GOP has always been this way, very very not true, at all.

I have said many times that there just are not enough gay and lesbian Americans out there to ever ever force any political change in this country, we are a tiny minority , used as hockey pucks by the right to inflame bigots to give them money and vote for them. WE ( glbt Americans) - do have and will need, help from any sector that will give us the time of day. Conservative , Christian, Black, While Yellow , Orange or Blue. If anyone of any political leaning is for overturning DOMA, they are our friend. Bottom line.

So, in my opinion, YES, you can be a conservative homo, NO, you can not be Homo-Gop-er, YES, the other British guy on the dais today,Nick Herbert, was HOT, and YES, Maggie is a bigoted, ignorant, intolerant _ _ _ _ ! ( ala Lois)

In the luncheon that the Cato's just threw, Andrew brought up , in defense of Conservatism v the current GOP, just how Carl Rove and his like flying monkeys have used homophobia or fear or general homo hating as a sledge hammer . A very good part of the GOP today, and therefor the American Conservative movement, is rooted , deeply and solidly in hate. No more communist, cant hate blacks or Jews, we are pretty much all they have left, domestically, not being that tongue in cheek.

Charlie Crist is the Governor of Florida who may or may not be a big old homo from way way back. Oh, he will sing from the rooftops in a perfect tenor voice that he and his brand new, not live in , beard wife are going at it like teenage bunnies night and day, but the man has a pink paper trail as long as my belt these days! HE is the white haired guy about to go mano a mano in a lip lock with the President up there. Read the Sullivan post if you can... then look at the picture.

The ad is from Markco Rubio, the darling of the tea party set who is running for the Senate in the Florida GOP Primary, against Gov. Christ. Mr. Rubio hates the gays and their godless plan to take your children and guns. SO, here we have in one ad, that is placed by Google randomly on the web, on this site, that is showing two men, of mixed race kissing, and telling you to vote for the one that is against it...

SO, can you be a gay GOP-er ???
