Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI ) will not run for re-election in the fall.
The second son of the late Ted Kennedy will be stepping down after 16 years in the house. The next congress will be the first one in SIXTY FOUR years that will not have a Kennedy among its members. The end of an era?
It is interesting how the second and third generations of Kennedy's post Joe, Sr. have not really stepped up to the plate, POLITICALLY wise. Many are in public service, Riverkeepers, just for one ( very important in NY state) but none have really risen to the top of the political world... NOT that you can blame them..
