Mayberry on the Delmarva !

We had such a very nice long full day today!

St Peters Episcopal Church in Lewes ( loo-is ) Delaware. It is one of the four oldest Episcopal Churches in the country, one of only a hand full that King George the something gave the deed to. It's big time old, this building only goes back to like 1830 ish. Very English graves out in front of the church, lots of really cool old ones
This was a favorite, there were many that were much more ornate and all, I just liked how old this guy was... and what his funeral must have been like. Many Rodney graves here... for those of you have have seen 1776.
Long time readers know that I spent my summer and fall taking Neil too and from the airport, as he flew all over the country doing his Believe Out Loud seminars for open and accepting churches. It was a real treat to get so see him in action. It really was an enjoyable day, the people just could not have been nicer. Gay and Straight, Episcopal and non, but a very nice group.
American Gothic, 2011

We all now Believe Outloud, really, we have had the day long class, so off to the Skipper Jacks, or some such bar for post meeting cocktails with new friends.
Cute Bartender Todd
You get a bunch of hard core Episcopalians a little toddy and they will
put on a Eucharist at the drop of a hat. This is a very cute church on the inside, sort of
New England plain, in beachy colors

More Rodney stuff,... they really like their Rodneys around these parts.
After snacks all day, turkey or veggie wraps for lunch, hostess with the mostess Dean roasted a whole side of fresh, never frozen salmon with an out of this world honey Dijon glaze, seriously.
and pineapple upside down cake.....

Everything was over pretty early, we came back to the room for a little Angry Birds and nap time, then went back to see cute bartender Todd, Neil had a crab cake dinner and I had a burger,
This trip really was a treat on so many levels, the hotel is just special, seeing Neil in action was wonderful and meeting such nice, engaging, caring people.. was just uplifting. Everyone was all about us coming back to visit, hopefully we will....
