raining , pouring

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
"But wait a bit," the Oysters cried,
"Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!"
"No hurry!" said the Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.

The State of Gay in the USA

Chapter 32 : " but if you try sometimes, you get what you need."

So much is happening so very very fast, yesterday, today and tomorrow. The interntes have gone all nuclear today with the statement from Senator Reid's office that ,out of the blue pretty much ,the Defense Authorization bill WILL be coming to the floor tonight, with DADT stuck right there in the bill. At this typing there is a single lone Democrat holdout, newly elected Senator Manchin of West Virginia, but  I really can not see him voting AGAINST Senator Birds position , while he is in Bird's seat ( his own starts in January..) Pryor of Arkansas a Dem NO from before, became a YES today. Brown and Collins are two GOPers already on board, and like Oprah and Gail, Collins rarely goes anywhere with Snowe....
So, with the gays and progressives all bent ( rightfully ) out of shape over the Presidents seeming lack of backbone, WHAM! BAM! lift don't ask- don't tell! Fingers and Toes Crossed.
3:53 UPDATE : things are just happening at lightning speed as more GOP's come into the fold, I might live blog tonight....

Also this week, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals took up the Walker ruling on the PROP 8 case in California. Neil and I glued to the television, for what turned out to be very surprising. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was not this. Extremely rare for these sorts of things to be broadcast, so I guess most folks didn't know what to expect. It was damn good tv..
HOUR ONE
HOUR TWO

Hour one is the case even allowing the guy who is doing the auguring to argue the case, really. No elected official in California wanted to appeal the case...
Hour two is some ass hattery that gets very sexist and somewhat racist... Keep it in mind, some cold Winter night, come back to it...It seems clear to us that our side won...

AND last, and I maybe least, who knows.... two teenage gay boys singing " Baby It's Cold Outside" to one another. Trust me on this one, teenage boy Kyle would have been BLOWN AWAY by this...
