Not Christmas, kiddies, but there might be a mighty big gift tomorrow. The night before the most momentous vote ever in the US Congress for GLBT Americans. The night before the don't ask, don't tell stand alone bill will be voted on . That sound you hear is ice breaking, all over the country. A little surprising the right wing Christianist are not going even more ape shit than they are...
This will be that first domino, the toothpaste out of the tube. YOU see, there are folks in the military stationed in New England and Iowa ( and hopefully California ) and IF the vote is held tomorrow and if it passes and GLBT service members jump thought the zillion hoops left for them... those folks in New England and Iowa can have legal! spouses. And those spouses will be eligible for FEDERAL military benefits.
Uh-oh... there goes the Big Daddy of anti gay legalisation in this country DOMA.
Just a heads up, I'll be wall to wall c-span tomorrow, hopefully live blogging, with the good news....
