From the GA VOICE "The Atlanta City Council voted unanimously this afternoon to approve a $1.025 million settlement in a federal lawsuit over the Atlanta Police Department's 2009 raid on the Atlanta Eagle, a gay bar on Ponce de Leon Avenue."

A little background, as long time readers will remember, back on September 10, 2009, the APD all guns a blazin', entered the bar, for just all sorts of trumped up reasons and made everyone in there lie on the floor etc.
"The suit alleged the Atlanta Police Department and its Red Dog unit violated the employees’ and patrons’ federal and state constitutional rights by illegally detaining them, searching them without warrants and using anti-gay slurs during the raid."
Very odd for Atlatna... or so we all thought. The leather gays ( and the not so leather gays, that is the bar that Neil and I met in...) fought back. A little thing called Stonewall, APD....
